ENGLISH VERSION: ORLANDO, MORE THAN THEME PARKS.

ORLANDO, MORE THAN THEME PARKS.

By: Ergio Guitian A.

When you ask yourself what to do in Orlando? keep in mind that this city has more to offer than its theme parks. The disney world complex and its four parks (wdw), the two parks of Universal and Sea World, are the best known. But there are others like Kennedy Space Center, Gatorland (the oldest of them all), Legoland, Holy-land and more recently Fun Spot, allow this city to receive more than 60 million tourists a year.

Due to the long distances that must be traveled from one place to another, when you decide what to do in Orlando it is advisable to rent a car. But, if you do not want to rent a car, you have the option of cheaper taxis than the classic "yellow cab", such as Uber and Lift, for this you must have a credit or debit card and affiliate it to the App.

Being a tourist region, the hotel offer is very variable and ranges from luxury hotels with rooms that cost more than a thousand dollars a night to cheap hotels from $ 100 or less per night. There are also resorts as an option to spend the night. A good amount of the hotels and resorts are in the disney world area.

When you visit orlando you will see that the cuisine is also very rich and varied, with typical foods from almost all parts of the world. A tourist area per excellence is the International drive where there are many restaurants of different prices and types of food. From fast food to luxury with a la carte menu, going through the "all you can eat" are among the variety. There are also some night spots, the "eye of Orlando" and the convention center in this busy avenue, and of course the famous Outlets and very close, the Malls, where you can buy with a wide variety of prices. But not only on International Drive you have options, there are also many restaurants and night spots in downtown Orlando, which

I recommend visiting, and Park Avenue in Winter Park where you will surely spend a pleasant evening.

If you like sports and you visit orlando, Central Florida also has an extensive menu of possibilities. Depending on the season you can attend different sporting events. Depending on the season you can attend different sporting events. In spring there is Spring baseball training; ESPN World Wide Sports in wdw, Lake Buena Vista is the headquarters of the Atlanta Braves. Fall and Winter is the NBA Basketball season and the Orlando Magics are based at the Anway Center in downtown, just off the busy I-4, and Orlando City of the Major League Soccer plays in their own stadium in summer and fall.

But if what you like is the practice of outdoor sports, the options for playing golf are endless. Also, in Central Florida there is an extensive network of cycle paths and trails, so I advise you to rent a bicycle and enjoy that extensive network with its beautiful views. Special mention should be made of the areas of fauna and environmental protection that abound in the region, including the famous springs. Just 15 minutes from downtown, north on I-4 are Wekiva Spring and Rock Spring, a little further north is Blue Spring and about an hour's drive away, Silver Spring; all excellent options to spend a day camping enjoying nature.

Also, Orlando and nearby cities have several museums such as the Morse museum, the history museum or the science museum, and please, if you like reading do not miss any of the extraordinary and very well-endowed network libraries.

So, you know, in your next visit orlando, not only the theme parks are the tourist option, but there are many more places to see, visit and enjoy.
