Originally played in Atlanta until 1977 and between 1978 and 1981 in Pontevedra Beach, Florida. The only player to have won the championship three times is Jack Nicklaus (1974, 1976, and 1978). While Fred Couples, Steve Elkington, and Tiger Woods have won it twice.
